There’s a guitar in my trunk.
There’s a guitar sitting in my trunk.
It’s been only a week since I inherited it. I’ve yet to find the time to learn it. So it rests there, taking a back seat in my car.
And in my life.
Funny, but also — I call BS.
I tell myself it’s a time problem, but the truth is I’ve no problem spending it.
Because we all have the time. No one poorer, no one richer, everyone gets the same sunrise and sunset. Did you miss one? Did you miss the other? Alas, there’s another tomorrow, hopefully.
We just lack the patience.
We’re too settled in, cozied up in some deep, deep cushion.
Call it laziness, call it comfort — the body will find homeostasis.
How long will it take to learn guitar?
We’ve always had the time.
Just not the patience.
